In addition to his first engagement with the Philharmonie \u201cTransylvania\u201d Klausenburg, he was solo double bass player in the Orchestra Internationale d\u2019Italia. From 1992-2003 he was solo double bass player with the Munich Philharmonic and from 1998 he was also a lecturer at the Nuremberg University of Music. In 2003, Dorin Marc was appointed professor at the Nuremberg University of Music.<\/p>\n<p>Dorin Marc has received numerous prizes both in his home country and internationally, including the special prize of the jury in 1979 and second prize at the ARD competition in Munich in 1985, third prize in 1979 and first prize in 1981 at the International Double Bass Competition in Markneukirchen, and the silver medal in 1983 and the \u201cFr. Liebstoeckl\u201d prize at the Geneva Music Competition and, in 1991, first prize at the International Society of Bassists competition in Mittenwald.<br \/>Dorin Marc gave concerts all over Europe and gave numerous master classes.<br \/>His students are prizewinners at international double bass competitions such as the ARD Competition in Munich, the International Instrumental Competition in Markneukirchen, J.M. He succeeds not only with an engaging stage presence, impressive virtuosity, vocal and melodic delivery, but also through his tireless efforts to expand the repertoire, whether through new commissions or arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Born in 1997 in Vienna, Wagner is a scholarship recipient of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation and prize winner of the ECHO Klassik and Opus Klassik awards. He has also won prizes at almost all double bass competitions, including the Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition, the ARD International Music Competition, the International Markneukirchen Competition, the International J.M. Sperger Competition, the International Osaka Competition and the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition.<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist Dominik Wagner has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and the Camarata Salzburg in concert halls in Berlin (Konzerthaus and Philharmonie), Vienna (Musikverein and Konzerthaus), Munich (Herkulessaal and Gasteig), Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie), and New York (Carnegie Hall), among others. He was introduced to the world of music early on, and he began playing the piano at the age of five. In 2006, he discovered the double bass and, after just one year with the instrument, became a member of the Bavarian Youth Orchestra. At the time, he was attending the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater (University of Music and Performing Arts) in Munich, where he had double bass lessons with Prof. Klaus Trumpf.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, he began studying under the tutelage of Prof. Dorin Marc in N\u00fcrnberg. Around the same time, he became a member of the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2012, Hille was runner-up at the Johann Matthias Sperger Double Bass Competition, where he also won the audience award and the award for the best interpretation of a Sperger sonata. 2014 saw him receive the Culture Award from his hometown. Hille has had solo concerts with renowned orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra in Nuremberg, the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie, and the Rheinische Philharmonie in Koblenz.<\/p>\n<p>He graduated from the Nuremberg conservatory with honors and has had master classes with Bo\u017eo Parad\u017eik, Catalin Rotaru, and Yasunori Kawahara. Since 2013, Hille has performed in the Orchestra Academy and also as a member of the double bass section of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed concerts for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Symphonic Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, he became the principal bass player at the G\u00e4rtnerplatz State Theatre in Munich. Born and raised in Egypt, she pursued her musical education at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin, where she studied under esteemed professors such as Matthew McDonald and Nabil Shehata.<\/p>\n<p>Her professional journey has seen her hold key positions in Egypt\u2019s leading orchestras, serving as principal double bassist of both the Cairo Opera Orchestra and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Her international engagements have taken her far beyond Egypt, including tours with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Daniel Barenboim. She has collaborated with numerous orchestras across the Middle East and Europe, including Northwest Opera in Ireland, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt, and as principal bassist with the Neue Philharmonie Berlin. As a soloist, she has performed with distinguished ensembles such as the Cairo Opera Orchestra, Orchestra Suoni Dal Golfo, and the Berliner Camerata. In the realm of chamber music, she is a regular performer with groups like the Egyptian European Ensemble for Contemporary Music and Asambura. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Samar Hafez was awarded the Egyptian Incentive Award in 2021. Beyond her performance career, she is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians, sharing her expertise through masterclasses in Egypt and the broader Middle East. Since November 2022, she has held the position of Associate Principal Double Bass with the Brandenburger Symphoniker. From the main stages of Wacken Open Air, Hellfest and Brutal Assault to collaborations with symphony orchestras, he has performed with a wide range of artists in both metal and beyond. Known for his versatility, Linus switches naturally between traditional and extended-range basses \u2013 with his expressive 6-string fretless sound remaining a signature voice that has set him apart.<\/p>\n<p>He first gained international recognition as the bassist of <strong>Obscura<\/strong>, where his distinctive style became a defining element of the band. Today, he is a core member of <strong>Alkaloid<\/strong> and <strong>Obsidious<\/strong>, two forward-thinking progressive metal bands. Specializing in jazz, soul-funk, and free improvisation, he quickly distinguished himself as a composer and leader of original projects.<\/p>\n<p>He has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Ute Lemper, Lew Tabackin, Don Friedman, Avishai Cohen, David Liebman, Javier Girotto, and many others, and in Italy with Pieranunzi, Rava, Bollani, Cafiso, Gatto, Giuliani, Ottaviano, Bosso, Cerri, and other key figures in jazz. He has performed at major festivals around the world and is produced by international labels, including Albore Records.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He has released several albums as a bandleader, including Apaturia, We\u2019ll Be Together Again, Ciao\u2026Amore, The Nine Lives of the Soul, Mission Formosa, Atomic Bass, and I Will Touch You. As part of the Ensemble Academy of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and master classes in Stuttgart, she researched the use of gut strings with Love Persson. In Zurich she studied the violin with David Sinclair.<\/p>\n<p>Elisabeth Forster began her pedagogical training in Stuttgart with Song Choi, where she was employed as a tutor for double bass at the Stuttgart Music Academy. In Zurich, she supplemented her pedagogical training under the didactic supervision of Andreas Cincera. From 2001 to 2014, he also worked as a mentor at the University of Music Nuremberg.
