The Bavarian Bassdays has been an annual event to celebrate all things bass since 2015. This year, the event is online. While the workshops are reserved for the participants, the concerts are open to the public. Today’s concert is split into two sections: Classical and Jazz.

Ernõ Rácz has been solo double bass player with the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich since 2013. In the three years prior to this (2010-2013), he was engaged as soloist with the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Vienna (Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra).

Ernö is also a passionate chamber musician. In the previous years, he performed with the famous opera singer Ryan Speedo Green and the pianist Thomas Lausmann in the Glass Hall in the Viennese Musikverein.

In 2016 he was invited as a lecturer for the Jugendsinfonieorchester Niederösterreich and also as a member of a jury for the Austrian music competition “Prima la musica” in 2018.

Kristin Korb is doing a special solo set for this concert: just bass and voice. This intimate setting is rarely heard, but always engaging and entertaining.

Known for her hard swinging bass lines and sparkling vocals, Kristin Korb has established herself on the jazz stage as an exceptional artist, commanding both instruments with panache, engaging them simultaneously with an ease comparable to breathing.

“Her laid-back personality resonates through her music – she has a way of taking anything and making it sound cool.” – Lauren Bush, London Jazz News
